Wichita Kansas MOAA Chapter
COL Gary LaGrange, President-
Kansas Council of Chapters. He
heads up the special program
created with his wife Jan to aid
school children in Iraq and
Afghanistan. The program is
called “Help us Learn...Give us
Hope” which to date has shipped
more than 45,000 lbs of school
supplies to school children in
these countries. The supplies are
distributed by American soldiers
in support of their efforts to build
good relationships with local
communities. About 31,000
children have received these
supplies so far, however more
than 600,000 children need help in
the war areas.
Supports Iraqi and
Afghan school aged
children by providing
basic school supplies
and sponsorship.
Their education is the
greatest hope for their
future and the stability
we seek.
Enables soldiers to win hearts
and minds by focusing on children. Good will
builds through direct distribution and relationship
building.
Directly engages US citizens in the process of
assisting children and our soldiers in Iraq and
